OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators received some encouraging news on the injury front Saturday as Thomas Chabot returned to the ice with his teammates.
Chabot skated with the team for the first time since suffering an injury against the Philadelphia Flyers on October 17.
The veteran defenceman wore a yellow non-contact jersey, but his return to practice represents a positive step in his recovery.
Chabot is expected to accompany the Senators on their upcoming five-game West Coast road trip, with the expectation that he could return to the lineup at some point during the trip.
His return would provide a welcome boost to an Ottawa blue line that has already dealt with several injuries early in the season.
